Management one-point agenda
Total quality health care that guarantees patient’s satisfaction
There are five training schools in the hospital. These include;
· Community Health Officers Training School
· School of Health Information Management
· School of Plaster Technician
· School of Post Basic Nursing
· Renal Nurse Training School
Community Health Officers Training School
The communities Health Officer Training programme was initiated by the Federal government to produce personnel for the Primary Health Care scheme. The programme commenced in the hospital in March 1981. It provides training for Community Health Supervisors as well as post basic qualification training course for nurses and midwives. A unique feature of this one year training programme is that it unified the training of this cadre of health workers. Hitherto, there were more than 20 different types of community health workers in various parts of the country with different standards. The hospital has produced more than 503 graduates since the inception.
School of Health Information Management
This school commenced operation on 24th march 1997 with 25 students. It is accredited by the National Health Records Board for Ordinary and Higher National Diploma training in Health Records and Biostatistics. To date the school has produced over 346 graduates.

School of Plaster Technicians
This school took off in October 1997 following Management decision to reduce the cost of training this cadre of health workers for the hospital in Kano. Over 47 students have since graduated from the school since inception. Proposal for commencement of award of diploma certificate is under consideration by the Management board of the hospital.
School of Post-Basic Nursing
This school was established and accredited in 1999 to run Post Basic Nursing courses in Paediatrics and Accident and Emergency. Over 581 graduates have been produced to date.
Renal Nursing Training School
This school trains nurses in the care of patients with wide range of renal disorders for one year. It also offers training in renal replacement therapy.
